Home & Garden Expo COMING SOON May 24-June 2

There are a couple of events each year that excite me as much as Christmas does!    One is the hair fair (can a girl ever have too many styles??) and the other is the Home and Garden Expo.    Each year I walk through the sims getting a quick look at everything and then I go back every day and focus on one sim at a time.   I don't miss a speck on the sidewalk!   This year will be different for me - I'll be joining the list of amazing creators exhibiting their creations!    I'll post a landmark to Persnickity at Expo in a couple days when its available to me but I want to touch on a few things first.

The expo is not only a venue for the exhibitors to show their creations but its a fundraiser for Relay for Life.   For those of you not familiar with Relay for Life (RFL), it is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event.   We've all been touched by cancer somehow - whether a family member, friend or ourselves, its a battle that we need to keep fighting through research.    You'll find at least two vendors that each creator has put out - something unique with the proceeds going to RFL.    Please support this worthy cause.

There will also be raffle drawings so look for the spot to enter your name to win.    The prize will be EVERY item in EVERY RFL vendor (!) and the proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

There is also a silent auction, again with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.   I can't stress enough the importance of the Expo.   Everyone benefits and this is such an important event for cancer research along with you seeing and buying great high quality items.

This website (CLICK HERE) is your guide for the Home & Garden Expo.    Grab a cup of coffee (or something stronger if you prefer!) and have fun exploring the 11 sims FULL of the best items SecondLife has to offer.

I'll keep you posted on landmarks in a couple days!

May Group Gift

I'm three days late with the May group gift but I have a good excuse!   I'm now the VERY proud grandmother of twins and I'm over the moon!!   I'll be spending the next month or so helping out so if I'm not inworld you'll understand why.   Anyway.....the new gift is out *maybe I've moved the group joiner and gift since last month?* - its at the bottom of the stairs of the mainstore.

Just in case you missed any blog posts recently, scroll back to see some FUN new items for the garden.   I especially love the new 'female' trees that are quite unique but these ladies are struttin' their stuff!

I'm so excited to be participating in the Home and Garden Expo this year.   It spans nine sims and will showcase some of Second Life's TOP creators.    It opens on May 24th and runs for a week.   I'll be posting notices as the time draws closer to show you some NEW EXCLUSIVE items that I'll have there.  In the meantime, have a great week-end.    Off to hold and kiss babies.   :))

The Ladies Have Arrived

I was reading an interesting article about tree genders - yes there are male and female trees.    The male produces spores and pollen which 'fertilizes' a female plant which in turn produces new trees.   It got me thinking....can I tell just by looking at a tree whether its male or female?    Do the males have a remote control firmly clinched in their branches?   Do the females have their credit cards hidden in the twists and turns of their twigs?

Miss Payday makes no bones about it - she's female AND she heading out shopping.  With her hat and shopping bag AND the joy of knowing its payday, she'll be the talk of your neighborhood.   Only 7 prims and 100L.

EXCLUSIVE to Persnickity, Seraphina (the firey one) is the light that every garden needs.   She oversees all the little seedlings and adds a soft warm glow with the two candles she carries.   Sink her roots into the ground a bit and let her light up your life.   20 Prims and 100L.

I love all the 'dressings' that go into a garden or yard - signs, lights, candles.   The Cottage Lantern with Flowers is one such thing.   The old twisted branch with its climbing vine and flowers at the base holds the candle-lit lantern and adds color and warmth to your great outdoors.   7 Prims and 40L.

All three are now available at Persnickity.  Grab your tp (HERE).

Don't forget the Gacha Carnival still going on.    I've got the book-end sets for sale there at only 75L each.   Once the carnival is over I'll be adding them to the mainstore for 150L per set so grab them now!    (See the previous blog entry for pictures and direct teleport)

The Supporting Cast

Its warm outside!   Really and truly WARM!   Maybe I was just being impatient *my middle name* but I was beginning to wonder if spring would ever spring/sprung/sprang.   The first sign of bulbs bursting through the soil forces me to pull out the gardening magazines and start re-designing what I'm going to plant.   Shall I keep the all pink and purple bed over by my peonies?     What perennials shall I add to the cottage garden by the deck?  New birdbath in the garden under my dining room window?   Sighs.  The ideas are endless but the result is priceless.   I'm a flower addict and I admit it.   It takes me four or five trips to the nursery to buy all the flowers I need, and then about a week to get them planted, whether in the ground or in pots, and then.....into the garage.....to the back.....right hand corner.....the 'ornaments' ....waiting to make their seasonal debut.   Box by box...one by one....placed in a spot amidst the flowers.    The garden signs.    The garden faces.    The garden critters.   The flowers are the stars but the garden ornaments are the supporting cast.   They give dimension to a garden - they enhance the garden.   As much as I love the flowers, I love each and every garden ornament just as much.    And now....garden ornaments coming to Persnickity.   I've just started and there will be lots more to come.   The supporting cast does just that - support the main characters and you can't have one without the other.

Three face garden plaques are also available - place them face down in the garden, hang on a wall or let them 'peek' out from behind the flowers.     Sold separately at 25L each, copy/mod.

Everything can be found at the mainstore location, in the garden bed attached to the right-hand side of the store.

ALSO!!!     The Gacha Carnival just opened!    It runs from April 5th to May 5th and each creator has EXCLUSIVE items in their Gacha machines.      Persnickity is participating, five different styles of book-ends are available.     They're only 75L per set at the Carnival - after May 5th the price doubles to 150L per set.

Don't miss the Gacha Carnival where you can pick up great EXCLUSIVE deals!      Click (HERE) for your teleport.     Enjoy!!!

I'm Blushing!

Zan Beck is a blogger who I met about a month ago at the store and she's written THE most complimentary post on her blog about Persnickity.   Thank you so MUCH Zan - you write with passion and a huge dose of creativity.

It always pleases me when I hear that someone loves the store, not only for the items available but also appreciates the prices.   I've always wanted to offer items at a low cost - I truly believe that you can have beautiful things and not break the bank.   The joy of designing is just that - the joy of designing and that in itself is priceless.   You can read Zan's blog by clicking (HERE).
